Offboarding

A structured offboarding process ensures that everything runs smoothly when someone leaves the company – technically, organizationally, and personally.

A good offboarding protects the company from security breaches and legal issues. It ensures that:

  • Access is revoked in time
  • Tasks are handed over
  • Legal requirements are met

When the process runs smoothly, it leaves a positive impression on the employee – strengthening the company’s reputation and potentially opening doors for future collaboration.

The offboarding feature works similarly to onboarding. In this article, we’ll only show you the differences. For details on the general process, please refer to the onboarding guide.

Offboarding and onboarding have separate permissions. This allows you to precisely control who can access which function.

Unlike onboarding, the employee does not see a new menu item in their profile during offboarding.

For offboarding, you enter the last working day. For onboarding, it’s the first.

Does an employee see that they are being offboarded?

Section titled “Does an employee see that they are being offboarded?”

No, the employee does not notice anything directly. This allows you to calmly and professionally prepare the process and later communicate it in a personal conversation.
